His path from the classrooms of Mothijheel Model High School to global badminton courts is a testament to versatility, vision, and relentless drive.

Saikat began his academic journey at Mothijheel Model High School and Dhaka Commerce College, laying a strong foundation for a promising future. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Marketing from Jagannath University, one of the country’s most respected institutions. Driven by an ever-expanding desire to serve society through justice, he pursued and completed his LL.B. from the National University, stepping into the legal arena with determination and integrity.

Today, Md. Shamim Hasan Saikat is a proud enlisted Advocate of the Bangladesh Bar Council, actively practicing at the District & Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka. Yet, his passion and influence extend far beyond the courtroom.

In a unique dual career, he also serves as an International Technical Official under the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Representing Bangladesh at global badminton events, he plays a critical role in maintaining fairness and professionalism in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. His involvement at this elite level has earned him recognition both at home and abroad.

An entrepreneur at heart, Saikat is the visionary behind Akota Furniture, a growing enterprise that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design. His firm is steadily building a reputation for quality and innovation, contributing to the local economy while enhancing everyday living spaces.

Equally committed to social engagement, Saikat is a permanent member of several prominent clubs, including Dhaka Boat Club Ltd, Purbachal Club Ltd, and Aftabnagar Club Ltd, where he remains involved in cultural and philanthropic activities.

He has also remained deeply loyal to his educational roots. As an executive committee member of the Mothijheel Model Ex-Student Association (MMEXSA), he actively contributes to alumni initiatives and youth development.

Perhaps most significantly, Md. Shamim Hasan Saikat serves as the founder president of the Jagannath University Marketing Alumni Association (JnU MAA). Under his leadership, the association is working to build a meaningful bridge between past graduates and current students. “We aim to foster strong networks, mentorship, and career support, making JnU MAA one of the most dynamic alumni associations in Bangladesh,” Saikat says, reflecting his long-term vision for the future.
